Bus Mercer, shortstop for the Peach Street Mudders baseball team, is dying to be on the All-Star team. The scouts have come to watch the players, and Bus has had a pretty good game. He figures if he works hard he can improve his skills and his chances to be picked for the All-Stars. But then something unexpected happens --- he gets a new mountain bike! He's so excited about the new bike, he breaks the rules about riding that his parents set up.
